Japan Cherry Blossom Forecast for 2017
This year’s cherry blossom forecast is expected to open close to their average schedule in 2017. The cherry blossoms are predicted to start opening in late March and reach their peak in early April in Central Japan.The cherry blossom season has ended in many of Japan’s major cities such as Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. The season has currently moved to the northern Tohoku Region and southern Hokkaido. The cherry blossoms are now at their peak in Hirosaki, Kakunodate and Hakodate. They are expected to reach their peak in Sapporo from May 2 to 9 during the Golden Week period in Japan.
The Cherry Blossom season typically starts in January in Okinawa and sweeps up the mainland to Hokkaido in May.
The best time for viewing the cherry blossoms varies between a few days to a week from the first bloom, so don’t leave it too late to see the beautiful blossoms.
