Japan Cherry Blossom (Sakura) Forecast for 2018

This year’s cherry blossom forecast is expected to open earlier than average schedule across Japan in 2018 due to a recent streak of high temperatures in March. The cherry blossoms are predicted to start opening in late March and reach their peak in early April in Central Japan. The cherry blossoms in Tokyo are expected to open on March 22, while in Kyoto, they are predicted to open on March 25.

The Cherry Blossom season typically starts in January in Okinawa and sweeps up the mainland to Hokkaido in May.

The best time for viewing the cherry blossoms varies between a few days to a week from the first bloom, so don’t leave it too late to see the beautiful blossoms.
